ORTHOPAEDIC FOOTWEAR FOR SCHOOL 

DESCRIPTION 
INDICATION FOR USE

 A school range of Medica™ orthopeadic footwear. This range will provide footwear that is fully black, with black leather uppers and black soles, and is designed to meet the needs of school children who require black school shoes as part of their school dress code.

The shoes provide:

  • extra support for the foot through an extended medial and lateral stiffener

  • a firm, high heel stiffener above the ankle to support and stabilise the heel bone

  • a high, hard, wide toe box to protect the toes

  • lightweight, cushioning sole with flexibility at the level of the toe joints to enhance toe-off and stride 

  • superb shock absorption to prevent heel-pain

  • “Thomas Heel” to provide extra stability and prevent inversion of the foot 

  • cushioned ankle cuff to assist with firm and comfortable fixation above the ankle

  • an effective strap length to fit feet of different sizes. 

  • extended facings to maximise accessibility and ease of fitting.

  • low muscle tone including those with developmental delays eg Down Syndrome

​

  • joint laxity, hyper-mobility, connective tissue disorders eg Elhers Danlos Syndrome

​

  • neurological conditions such as cerebral palsy, â€‹spina bifida, cerebellar ataxia

​

  • arthritic conditions eg Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis

​

  • persistent toe walking

​

  • significant pronation or supination of the feet

​

  • painful or sensitive feet
